The Anne Necklace and Brooch were inspired by someone's three favorite things about Portland, Oregon: the elegant Lan Su Chinese Gardens, the beautiful cherry trees that blossom each spring along Tom McCall Waterfront Park, and the two rivers that run through the city: the Willamette and the Columbia. The necklace is made of handcrafted sterling silver portals, referencing the portals at Lan Su, clay beads, and nylon fibers. The broach (also worn as part of the necklace) is hand-enamelled copper, sterling silver, and steel. This piece was part of the Body + Site, Location + Inspiration, Portland + Oregon series, shown as part of the 13 31 Exhibition, shown at the 10th & Hoyt Gallery and the Hoffman Gallery in Portland, Oregon, 2013.
